It is made throughout the Tuscan region and also in a few municipalities of Umbria. However, the main production area is the Maremma.
This is a DOP product so its protected designation of origin ensures that the product has this cheese is the best quality out there.
Serving suggestions: White wines, beer and lager. Ciabatta bread. Hot green tomato chutney. Makes a part of any delicious charcuterie board.
